Salutations,
It has now been 4 moons, 2 lights and 1 doon since my arrival here on Earth. My deferment here has been a success. I have been able to successfully integrate into the refinement of this dwelling. It is with supreme gratitude that I share my experience with you.
My vessel arrived at dusk when most of the Earthlings were latent. Thank you so much for large trowel structure that mined a pit for my vessel to conceal it. I am not certain when you had time to ordain such a device, but it was most obliging. I landed on what they call a continent, but we would refer to it as an formadu. This formadu is called North America. There is a muddle of people here. Some are kind, while others are like the Mildronians who want omniscience. I must be on watch at all times to make certain I do not use any of my powers from Planet Accordiana. I am able to do everything in North America that I am able to do at domestic but the flubbelopisis. I do not know why. Maybe it’s the gravity that does not allow my limbs to leave the ground for more than 3 tricklemesters.
It is very interesting. Not every word from Accordiana translates into the dictionary they have here. This is a fascinating planet. Planet earth is memorizing. It’s just like Lornaradian described it. I have not been able to make contact with him as of yet. I am in still searching for the remains or his vessels. The friends I made here referenced a place called 51 but I’m not certain if it truly exist. They warned me against investigating. No need for alarm, as I pretended to be what Earthlings call a “sci-fi fanatic”. Some of them believe we actually exist whereas the others do not. This place called 51 is said to have vessels and other confiscated items. I do fear Lornaradian might be imprisoned there so I must travel there eventually. But I will make contact before I venture West.
I have learned so much from my time spent here. They speak a language called English. They communicate through oral and written transmission, just as we do. To learn more about this place, I found a kind, male youngling named Joshua to help me. He believes I walk among them as one of them, so much so that he has taken me to meet his family. He took me to place called a library where he spends a large measure of his time. He is indeed scholarly. Oh how I wish he were an Acccordianan. I have grown rather fond of him.
In this library, I found a plethora of manuscripts, where Earthlings store their chronological transmissions. I have learned so much about this civilization. It amazes me what they have done for currency exchange, comfort and self-indulgence. Though I have read about many atrocities, there were also kindhearted people who dwell with me and have existed before my arrival. Joshua is an example of a very nice human who dwells here present day. An example of one who dwelled many years ago was Bartolome De Las Casas. As a childling, he witnessed Native Americans being displayed in the streets as mere property. He entered priesthood and used his position to free Native Americans. His written transmission was for that purpose in the form of laws and petitions. What a kind Earthling from another formadu, called South America, to do such a thing.
“Bartolme eventually became involved in his adult life in one of the most intense controversies in Christian history, the definition of man and the framing of human rights in the context of the discovery and conquest of the New World. His role in this great epic was squarely from within the church” (Payne 10). I am still learning their Internet system here so I will send a radio wave link so that you might access it. For now, I can report the manuscript as The Boy in Seville.
Just yesterdoon, I was reading about Captain John Smith and I came to the conclusion that had I met him, I would not hold an ounce of respect for him. He would remind you of the Gremalimins of Shazarranar. He was full of conceit and deceitfulness. Captain Smith and Powhatan, a Native American chief in North America, was in Powhatan’s terms “friends” yet Smith made plans to take his land. Powhatan gave a speech directed to Captain Smith. It stated “ And why are thus jealous of our loves seeing us unarmed, and both doe, and are willing still to feede you, with that you cannot get but by our labours? Thinke you I am so simple, not to know it is better to eate good meate, lye well, and sleepe quietly with my women and children, laugh and be merry with you, have copper, hatchets, or what I want being your friend: then be forced to flie from all, to lie cold in the woods, feede upon Acornes, rootes, and such trash, and be so hunted by you, that I can neither rest, eate, nor sleepe; but my tyred men must watch, and if a twig but breake, every one cryeth there cometh Captaine Smith:” (Calloway).
Americans have made him into quite the hero but in my opinion, he was conniving and only in search of what benefited him. His transmissions were in question by those who actually knew him.
In my interpretation of the Native Americans who lived her, prior to European invasion, were that they dwelt in peace and even after the permanent visitors came, they still attempted to teach them how to survive in what Europeans called the New World. All conquests to North America were in search of new opportunities as the expense of other humans. There has been slavery here and unjust treatment as well.
One of the ways was seen in how one person felt as though the skin she was in was a curse. Phillis Wheatley was a kidnapped slave sold to a
family who taught her how to read and write. In her poem On Being Brought from Africa to America, she talks about how thankful she was for being taken from a "pagan land" and being taught to understand salvation. In the lines that followed, she wrote " May be refin'd and join th'angelic train" (Wheatley). I found it interesting that she viewed her skin as a curse but upon her death, she would be redeemed and would join the angels in Heaven. I was grieved by her desire to look different because of the color of her skin. This was not a trend. As a result of this being the perceived tainted image of herself, she and many others felt the same way. It was thought to be a curse for many of these slaves and depending on the hue of their skin ( light or dark), they were pitted against each other. Sadly, I've witnessed this in their culture today. Many strive to have lighter skin, even going to far as to chemically treat their skin to be accepted while others are comfortable or dislike the lighter hues. It is a sad world but I refuse to believe there is no hope for humanity. There are too many kind people like Joshua who disprove what many of the people from the past have done.
There is a poem that that warms my heart written by Anne Bradstreet. To My Dear and Loving Husband "If ever two were one, then surely we./ If ever man were loved by wife, then thee;/ If ever wife was happy in a man, Compare with me, ye women, if you can." (ll. 1-4) I was visibly distraught after reading some of the different event that took place and I feared my life and lost hope in humanity, but then I read this and it renewed my faith much like the renewal that has attempted to take place here in North America.
There was a movement called the European Enlightenment that brought about some change to how things were done. The main components centered around rationalization and fundamental truth being revealed through observation and just plain common sense. There were a few other components but these really resonated with my inner being. Even Benjamin Franklin grasped this concept and used it throughout much of his transmissions. He recollected his autobiography a few times but the last one was quite a delight to read. I must see if I can bring it home to share. It was amazing to see how he actually confessed his deeds to his son in order to help him to see some of the errors in his ways but not only that but to pridefully be able to state what he had done in his lifetime. I still found integrity in transmission though he expressed his transgressions.
Well, I must retire. Joshua will be return to visit when the light arrives. Yesterdoon, he brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers. It was a kind gesture. I must reserve my thoughts and feelings for another personal transmission at a later date. I know not what to do for he is kind. Though humans are identical in image, an integration of such may not be prohibited. I must reference section 12345.78962 of our law to confirm the validity. Until my next transmission, be well my dear brother.
