Internal Issues of Earth

Page history last edited by Tannett Baker 7 months, 1 week ago

I, Slarine of Asgron Megos, have gained some knowledge in my reporting of the planet earth and how its inhabitants conduct themselves. I personally am weary of the way the humans make act, or show their true colors, if we were to share resources with them to save their planet. They seem most like ungrateful creatures that don’t know what their purpose is in life. A majority of them seem to have little remorse in the way they deal with their own kind, placing unprecedented harshness on those innocent of other imaginary in digressions. I have researched through their history that certain brutalities have a link to do with religion. I have found that in the human world their religions play a primary factor in the structure and social class of societies.

These religions are “a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving a devotional and ritual observances, and containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.” (Dictionary). On this planet there are many religions that these humans worship to, though the major religions being Christianity, Hinduism, and Islam. (Patheos) In North America, specifically America where I’m stationed, the majority of belief is into the Christianity, this country was actually built with their religion in mind and in every aspect in what they did when they “founded” this land. They put their faith and trust into an entity that may or may not be existence and live following whatever doctrine that their religion follows fighting for these words that were not written by their god, but by another man.

Christianity is derived from another religion called Judaism in what was earth’s first century, stemming from the teachings of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. (Patheos). Those who followed the teaching were then called Christians. Along with this major religion many subcategories within the three majors branches of being Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestantism (Patheos). This is where the proceedings among the humans start with that I think are just ridicules that we will even consider to help these beings. They turn on their own kind, In American a man from across one of their many seas ventured to another country to gain goods for his homelands monarch, he then stumble across an land that had no claims to them. This land, which is now the North American continent, was already inhabited by its natives. The Natives were discriminated against and subjected to harsh injustices as years went on continent, not limited to slavery and complete decimation of their people.

I believe that the religion plays on these treatment in a most significant way considering that in what is now America, a division within the continent, the migration and settlement in the land was caused mostly from groups trying to find religious freedom away from their homeland, where they were subject to various persecutions. When they arrived they found that the land was already inhabited, some with less than happy to see these people, which in some case would go on to help them survive on the new terrain. One example of this is in the writings of History of Plymouth Plantation by William Bradford he states “The place they had thoughts on was some of those vast & unpeopled countries of America, which are frutfull & fitt for habitation, being devoyd of all civill inhabitants, wher ther are only salvage & brutish men, which range up and downe, litle otherwise then ye wild beasts of the same." (Bradford).  It seems as though they weren’t expecting to have to share this land with anyone and when he speaks on if the were ‘civil’ and that they were “Savage and brutish men” it speaks in context that they don’t know God and live a completely different lifestyle then what they are accustom. That immediately brought them down to the settlers. This was coming from a Pilgrim point of view, though Pilgrims were what is called “Separatist” and came to the land to separate from the Church of England. You would assume that someone of that follows a faith that was looked down upon, they then looked down upon another. From that moment they had already put together a semblance social and acceptable behaviors and structure when they came in contact with the Natives.

Much of my assumptions seem to be the same in terms social class, which I believe here equals out to the treatment of other beings, the less your are valued you are treated as so for human Samson Occom spoke in his writing “I Believe It Is Because I Am a Poor Indian”: Samsom Occom’s Life as an Indian Minister he states “Now you See what difference they made between me and other missionaries; they gave me 180 Pounds for 12 years Service, which they gave for one years Services in another Mission, — In my Service (I speak like a fool, but I am Constrained) I was my own Interpreter. I both a School master and Minister to the Indians, yea I was their Ear, Eye & Hand, as Well as Mouth. I leave it with the World, as wicked as it is, to Judge whether I ought not to have had half as much, they gave a young man Just mentioned which would have been but £50 a year; and if they ought to have given me that, I am not under obligations to them, I owe them nothing at all; what can be the Reason that they used me after this manner? I can’t think of any thing, but this as a Poor Indian Boy Said, Who was Bound out to an English Family, and he used to Drive Plow for a young man, and he whipt and Beat him almost every Day, and the young man found fault with him, and Complained of him to his master and the poor Boy was Called to answer for himself before his master, and he was asked, what it was he did, that he was So Complained of and beat almost every Day. He Said, he did not know, but he Supposed it was because he could not drive any better; but says he, I Drive as well as I know how; and at other Times he Beats me, because he is of a mind to beat me; but says he believes he Beats me for the most of the Time “because I am an Indian.” ” (Occom).  It’s amazing that this unfair treatment could carry on is only justifiable by the fact that you are different, even if you worship the same power. I found that Occom use of literary devices made the more meaningful his feeling put across that this was injustice. He uses this Earths literary devices to convey his messages and by stating this in an Allegory ("A narrative technique in which characters [and events and settings] representing things or abstract ideas are used to convey a message or teach a lesson.). (Creel) Whether this is saying that this injustice ultimately stemmed from his religious and social status, I think it would be an accurate assumption.

But this works in both ways it was not only the natives that were looked down upon it was women also, from literal sense of the Bible, Christian sacred text, female humans were seen as weak and subservient to the males and also in other various religions of earth.  Like the persecution of Anne Hutchinson, a historical figure in America’s history, she was put on trial for the crime of “was expressing religious beliefs that were different from the colony's rulers.”, and that in the early colonies her that was against their laws and even more so for a woman. (Religious Freedom: The Trial of Anne Hutchinson) I don’t think it right to have such differences in rules and status among themselves, especially when the one you would put restrictions one be the same that give life. Equality among them, among every being, should a daily way of life.

Finishing report I think it is in my personal opinion more pertinent that we look into the matters of humans if we should be sharing resources such as weaponry, giving them refuge on Asgron, and aiding them in sustaining life of their own planet. I think it would be safe to say that beings that treat their people such a way, are not exactly the type that we should do business with lest the ‘bite the hand that feeds them’ like these humans say. first and foremost is the safety of security of our Asgron and its inhabitants and as far as I'm concerned for Earth and its people, if they cannot trust each other how are we to trust to trust them.
