I have been teaching since 1991 and teaching at MCTC since 1999. Prior to my arrival here, I taught at Gadsden State Community College in Alabama and, even earlier, at that large research university on the other side of town, the University of Minnesota. I have been teaching online courses since 1997.
I received my B.A. from Tulane University in New Orleans, La, and my M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
If you are a student in one of my courses and want to get in touch with me about a class matter, your best bets are to contact me in the D2L Discussion for our class, in the blog or wiki comments sections for our class, or by email at gill.creel@minneapolis.edu. I will generally respond to emails within 24 hours; however, I do not check my email on the weekends, so the time frame will be a bit longer then.
If you are interested in a more embodied experience, you can contact me by phone at 612.659.6023 (again expect a 24 hour turnaround time except on weekends) or come by my office in H4139 (Helland Center, 4th floor) on the main campus of MCTC.
For Spring session 2012, I am on campus during the following times, but it is always best to make an appointment if you'd like to meet with me:
Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
However, if you really want to catch me, it's best to make an appointment.
