Incompletes

I will only give a course grade of "Incomplete" to a student who has completed 90% or more of the coursework, is in good standing (no attendance or participation problems), and provides a viable reason for not completing the course within the given time.  Even under these circumstances, I will give an incomplete only in an extreme emergency.

Academic Dishonesty

I expect the work you turn in for this course to be your own (not written by someone else or pulled from the Internet or some other source).  If you use the words or ideas of others to develop your own ideas, I expect that you will appropriately clarify that you are using the words or ideas of others and that you will give them credit.  Acts of academic dishonesty could result in a "No Credit" for the course and additional disciplinary action by the college.

Attendance

Yes, that's correct, it says "attendance."   There is a two part attendance policy:

  1. Any student who has not been active on the class D2L pages or contacted the instructor within the first 7 days of the course, will be withdrawn from the course.
  2. Once the course has begun, any student who does not access the D2L pages AND contribute to the course (through discussion or quizzes) for a period of 14 days, will be withdrawn from the course.

If you have technical difficulties which will put you in danger of being unable to meet these obligations, it is your responsibility to contact the instructor via old-fashioned forms of communication like a telephone or a face-to-face meeting.

Additionally, all students should be familiar with MCTC's Last Date of Attendance policy which allows instructors to withdraw students from a course as mentioned above.
